Congressman Randy Fine today applauded a federal appeals court decision upholding Florida's Protection of Children Act (HB 1423), landmark legislation he sponsored in the Florida Legislature to prevent children from being exposed to sexually explicit drag performances.

The ruling is a major victory for parents, families, and common sense. HB 1423 was one of Congressman Fine's signature legislative achievements before entering Congress and reaffirmed Florida's commitment to putting children first.

"I was proud to lead the fight in Florida to stop children from being exposed to perverted drag shows masquerading as family entertainment," said Congressman Randy Fine. Congressman Fine Helps Secure Over $1.6 Million in FEMA Funds for Firefighters in Putnam County

Today, I’m proud to announce that Putnam County has been awarded $1,687,972.76 through FEMA’s Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) Grant Program.

This funding will allow Putnam County to hire and sustain 12 full-time firefighters for the next three years. Putnam County covers more than 827 square miles of rural Florida. As we've seen with the recent wildfires, so do the demands on our first responders. Every second counts when lives are on the line, and this grant means faster response times and better coverage for the families I represent.

“I appreciate Congressman Randy Fine’s continued support of programs that provide essential resources to local governments, help save lives, and strengthen the safety and resilience of rural communities. The SAFER Grant is absolutely vital to sustaining and strengthening our fire operations by funding critical frontline staffing, bolstering emergency response capabilities, and protecting public safety.

In rural communities like Putnam County, resources are often limited, and emergency personnel can be stretched thin across large service areas. SAFER Grants help ensure that trained firefighters and first responders are available when every second counts,” said Terry Suggs, Putnam County Administrator.

Back in September, I sent a letter urging support to the Secretary of Homeland Security making the case for this funding. I highlighted the urgent staffing shortages and the real needs of a growing rural county with limited resources. I’m glad DHS and FEMA listened and got this done.

Fighting for Safer Roads in Lake County

I wanted you to hear it directly from me: I have sent a formal request urging U.S. Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy to quickly approve Lake County’s application for a major federal Safe Streets and Roads for All grant.

Lake County is seeking $23.4 million in federal funding, combined with a local match, to make critical safety improvements along CR 561 and CR 44. These corridors have experienced far too many serious crashes and remain among the county’s highest transportation priorities.

If awarded, this funding would help implement proven safety measures including rumble strips, widened shoulders, raised medians, improved lighting, enhanced pavement markings, and other upgrades designed to reduce roadway departures, head-on collisions, pedestrian accidents, and nighttime crashes. These investments are about one thing: saving lives.

It is an honor to represent you in Congress, and it is my pleasure to fight hard every single day here in Washington to bring much-needed federal resources back home and deliver results for the people of the 6th district.

Congressman Fine Introduces K–12 AI Literacy and Readiness Act of 2026

Today, Congressman Fine (R-FL) introduced the K–12 AI Literacy and Readiness Act of 2026 to modernize American education by updating the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 and giving states and school districts clear authority to prepare students and teachers for the AI-driven economy using existing federal resources.

“Artificial intelligence is reshaping our economy and our kids’ futures faster than anything since the internet, yet too many schools still don’t have the authority or the resources to keep up. That’s why I’m introducing the K–12 AI Literacy and Readiness Act — to let states and districts use existing federal dollars for AI instruction, train our teachers, and make sure every student learns to use this technology safely and responsibly. Florida has shown we can modernize education without new spending or Washington interference — this bill takes that common-sense approach nationwide so our kids are ready to compete and win,” said Congressman Fine.

“With AI literacy quickly becoming a core workforce skill, students should have the opportunity to learn how to use these tools with confidence so the United States can fully capture the benefits of AI. CCIA commends Representative Fine for advancing the K–12 AI Literacy and Readiness Act, which would help schools use existing federal education funds for AI instruction, teacher training, and responsible classroom adoption,” said Michael Marn, Senior Manager for Computer and Communications Association.

The legislation amends the Elementary and Secondary Education Act to explicitly allow federal funds for:

- Student instruction on the safe, effective, and responsible use of artificial intelligence (as defined in the National Artificial Intelligence Initiative Act of 2020).

- Professional development for teachers, paraprofessionals, school librarians, media personnel, specialized instructional support staff, and administrators to use and teach AI effectively.

The bill has no fiscal impact and creates no new spending programs. It simply clarifies that existing education dollars can be used for AI curricula and training in a responsible way.

This legislation will empower the next generation of American students to lead in an AI-powered world. By bringing Florida’s forward-thinking approach to classrooms nationwide, the K–12 AI Literacy and Readiness Act ensures our children will not only be prepared for the future — they will shape it, compete successfully on the global stage, and thrive in the exciting opportunities ahead.

A Year in Action: Congressman Fine Secures Millions, Serves Thousands in First 365 Days in Congress

One year ago today, Congressman Randy Fine was sworn in to serve the people of Florida’s Sixth Congressional District. In that short time, he has assembled an exceptional record of measurable results both in Washington and back home.

Secured more than $18 million in grant funding for 6 critical infrastructure projects across the district
Responded to more than 102,000 calls and emails from constituents seeking assistance or sharing their opinions on legislation, providing timely guidance and support on a wide range of federal issues
Hosted over 400 meetings with constituents and stakeholders in his Washington, D.C., office
Led a total of 123 private tours of the nation’s capital
Provided hands-on assistance with 1,680 constituent cases, focusing on Military and Veterans Affairs, Social Security and Medicare, and the IRS
Successfully resolving many of those cases, Congressman Fine successfully returned $9,505,820.14 directly to the people of Florida’s 6th District

Delivering Results Through Legislation

Just hours after being sworn into office, Congressman Fine cast the deciding vote to pass the Working Families Tax Cut, delivering immediate relief for hardworking Americans. This landmark legislation secured real wins for families across Florida, including:

Eliminating taxes on tips
Eliminating taxes on overtime
Expanding the Child Tax Credit, and finally
Ending the double taxation of Social Security benefits for the vast majority of Florida seniors

Congressman Fine has been an active voice in advancing legislation focused on strengthening national security, supporting veterans, and promoting economic growth. Over the past year, he has sponsored 26 bills and cosponsored 143 pieces of legislation, with four bills already passing committee and now advancing to the House floor for a full vote.

He is leading efforts through the Contract Our Veterans Act to ensure veteran-owned small businesses are on a fair playing field when competing for federal contracts with the Department of War. Additionally, Congressman Fine has championed the No Welfare for Noncitizens Act, legislation that would bar noncitizens from receiving federally funded welfare benefits—protecting taxpayer dollars and saving an estimated $177 billion.

Perhaps most importantly, Congressman Fine has not missed a single vote, either in committee or on the House Floor, since being elected. He has served as Speaker Pro Tem of the U.S. House of Representatives 13 times, and has served as acting Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

Congressman Fine and 24 Fellow House Republicans Demand Senate Pass the SAVE America Act

This morning, Congressman Fine sent a letter to Senate Majority Leader John Thune demanding immediate passage of the SAVE America Act. Congressman Fine joined fellow House Republicans in making a simple point clear: Enough is enough.

Until the Senate takes up and passes the SAVE America Act, Congressman Fine and his 24 Republican colleagues are prepared to vote NO on any Senate legislation except DHS funding. The message is simple: securing America’s elections must come first. The American people deserve secure elections. Requiring proof of citizenship to vote is not controversial. It is common sense and ensures that only American citizens control the future of our nation.

It has now been a month since the House of Representatives passed the SAVE America Act, which would require proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections and minimize fraudulent voting. Despite overwhelming bipartisan support for voter ID requirements (over 81%), the Senate has yet to bring this common-sense bill to the floor.

Congressman Fine Helps Secure $4.7 Million Within Weeks in Federal Funds to Restore Flagler Beaches

Today, Congressman Fine is proud to announce that he has helped secure $4.7 million in federal funds for Flagler Beach. These funds will help with beach renourishment projects and prevent further coastal damage with the upcoming hurricane season to begin soon.

Within weeks of Congressman Fine’s request to expedite processing and review, the Federal Emergency Management Agency announced the approval and release of the federal funds — ensuring this vital project can move forward without delay.

Congressman Fine Introduces Legislation to Protect Puppies From Sharia

Washington, DC - Congressman Randy Fine introduced the Protecting Puppies from Sharia Act. The bill was filed in response to comments from an advisor to Zohran Mamdani, the Mayor of New York City, who stated that because owning a dog as a pet violates Islamic law, it should be banned. As part of her comments, she said, “New York City is coming to Islam.”

This legislation would prohibit federal funds from being provided to any state or local government that bans dogs as pets. Islamic law cannot be forced on the United States of America. It is the right of all Americans to own a dog.

“In America, we will not allow anyone to tell us that we cannot have dogs. My bill protects Americans’ right to own a dog and would not allow federal funding to be given to any state or local government that bans them as Haram.There are 57 countries that are Sharia compliant; the United States will not be the 58th.”- Congressman Randy Fine

Congressman Fine Introduces Legislation to Help Veteran Small Business Owners with Congressman Van Orden and U.S. Senator Sheehy

Recently, Congressman Fine (FL-06) introduced the Contract Our Veterans Act of 2025, legislation aimed at establishing a federal contracting program for Veteran-Owned Small Businesses and ensuring they receive the same level of preference as other designated small business categories.

For more than thirty five years, the federal government has maintained annual goals for small business participation in federal contracting. Congress requires that small businesses can receive no less than 23% of the total value of all contracts for each fiscal year.

Some of these small business types include, Small Disadvantaged Businesses, Women-Owned Small Businesses, and Service-Disabled Small Businesses. There are currently no government-wide procurement goals or preferences that exist for non-disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses.

Congressman Fine’s legislation would place Veteran Owned Small Businesses on the same preference level as other small business categories by:

Granting agencies authority to make sole-source contract awards to Veteran Owned Small Businesses.
Creating contract set-asides, where competition is limited to Veteran Owned Small Businesses as long as the “Rule of Two” is met.
Establishing a government-wide contracting target for Veteran-Owned Small Businesses of no less than 5% of total contract award dollars.

My Contract Our Veterans Act of 2025 will allow Veteran Small Business Owners to be specifically eligible for certain contracts or set-aside opportunities. Let me be clear, the brave men and women who served our great country should be given the same economic opportunities as other designated small business groups.
