Congressman Fine and the Republican Study Committee Chairman Condemn Antisemitic Terrorist Attack in Boulder, Demand Stronger Immigration Law Enforcement
Washington, DC – Congressman Randy Fine (FL-06), in partnership with the Republican Study Committee, today introduced a resolution unequivocally condemning the evil antisemitic attack in Boulder, Colorado, on Sunday, June 1, 2025. This heinous act, perpetrated by Muslim terrorist Mohamed Sabry Soliman, a criminal alien who was in America illegally, targeted 12 innocent American citizens, including a Holocaust survivor, with Molotov cocktails and a makeshift flamethrower. Their only crime, in Mohamed's eyes, was being Jewish.
This resolution denounces this attack amidst a disturbing rise in antisemitic violence across the United States, including recent murders of an Israeli Embassy couple in Washington, DC and an arson attack on Governor Josh Shapiro’s home in Pennsylvania. The resolution calls for the full prosecution of the perpetrator and urges Congress to take immediate action to secure the border and deport migrants who overstay their visas. This resolution reaffirms the commitment to combating antisemitic violence and ensuring justice while highlighting the urgent need to address visa overstays to prevent future tragedies.
Representative Randy Fine stated, “Antisemitic violence has reached crisis proportions in the United States. In the United States, in 2025, American Jews are in fear of their lives as they walk down the street, worried about being attacked just for being who they are. As a country, we now have a choice – we can call evil by its name or continue to pretend it does not exist. The facts are this: an illegal immigrant committed a heinous terrorist attack in the name of Islam, stating, “Allah is greater than the Zionists and America.” He was able to do it as a direct result of the Biden administration’s reckless open-border policies. Mohamed should never have been allowed to remain in our country, and his heinous act against innocent Jewish Americans is a stark reminder that we must secure our borders and enforce our laws to protect our citizens from such preventable violence. I want to thank Chairman August Pfluger for asking me to take a leadership role on this issue and for my fellow members in the RSC for their support.”
Republican Study Committee Chairman August Pfluger (TX-11) said, "The antisemitic terrorist attack in Boulder that targeted 12 innocent Americans, including a Holocaust survivor, could have been prevented if Mohamed Sabry Soliman hadn’t been allowed to illegally overstay his visa by the Biden administration. This terrorist specifically targeted these Americans because of their pro-Israel beliefs. This follows other targeted incidents this year, including the killing of a couple in D.C. who worked at the Israeli Embassy and arson at Governor Shapiro's home, showing an alarming pattern of antisemitic violence. I'm proud to join Congressman Fine in co-sponsoring this resolution condemning antisemitism and calling for immediate action to deport visa overstays. Our immigration laws exist for a reason and enforcing them is critical to keeping Americans safe."
“Jewish people should not have to face this violence anywhere, let alone in the United States of America,” House Republican Conference Chairwoman Lisa McClain (MI-09) said. “I call upon everyone to condemn this terrorist attack. Failure to condemn these heinous attacks is the same as enabling them. I will continue to condemn antisemitism and stand with our Jewish brothers and sisters.”
“I was proud to join my colleagues in condemning the tragic attack on Jewish Americans in Boulder, Colorado last weekend,” said House Armed Services Committee Chairman Representative Mike Rogers (AL-03). “This attack is sadly just one occurrence in a long string of rapidly escalating, pro-Hamas violence. Anti-Semitism must be rooted out completely in this country, and violence toward the Jewish people must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
“Antisemitism has no place in America or anywhere in the world,” said Representative Randy Weber (TX-14). "It's despicable that an illegal immigrant was allowed to remain in our country long enough to carry out a terror attack on our Jewish brothers and sisters. This evil must be condemned at the highest levels, and the law must be enforced swiftly and without apology."
